7 pro tips for economical industrial lighting

The impact of lighting on professional activity is too often underestimated. In addition to contributing to the well-being and safety of employees, the lighting of an industrial building is an undeniable productivity factor.

Essential to the operation of a company, industrial lighting is subject to many constraints: power, environment, energy consumption… This is why it is essential to have all the information to make an informed choice and enjoy robust, efficient and economical industrial lighting solutions. How to light an industrial building efficiently and at a lower cost? The led bulb, is it really economical? What type of lighting should be favored to optimize working conditions on a production line? You have certainly already asked yourself these questions! MonEclairageLed gives you all the leads to succeed in your industrial building lighting equipment project and benefit from inexpensive LED lighting!

1 – Opt for LED industrial lighting

How to reduce the operating cost of an industrial building and optimize its lighting? Both economically and in terms of performance, industrial LED lighting has nothing but advantages: reduced energy consumption, much higher durability than conventional lighting products, high performance, etc. Choosing to equip a hall, a warehouse or a industrial building with industrial LED lighting solutions can reduce both a company’s electricity consumption and the inevitable maintenance costs, while gaining flexibility and efficiency. If the basic investment may seem important, the financial gain in the medium term largely justifies this choice! Finally, be aware that the implementation of industrial LED lighting solutions can make it possible to benefit from an energy bonus (CEE) aimed at encouraging companies to carry out energy renovation work. A convincing argument to more easily initiate a positive ecological transition for the planet and for the health of a company.

2 – Safety, productivity… the advantages of suitable industrial lighting

Beyond its purely functional role, industrial building lighting must allow employees to work in good safety conditions. Adequate lighting not only limits the risk of accidents, but also allows you to work faster, more efficiently and reduces the possibility of error. The light environment therefore has an essential role in terms of day-to-day safety, as well as a significant effect on the well-being and health of personnel. So many reasons that justify the choice of LED industrial lighting, known for its versatility and for offering all the necessary power, while being energy efficient. Our wide range of industrial LED lighting products for professionals ensures that you can install the right type of lighting in the right place, from bell-type suspended industrial LED lighting to fixed or adjustable LED projectors, including by the waterproof ceiling light with LED tubes.

3 – Favor quality lighting products

An industrial building is a specific environment that can put lighting systems to the test: exposure to shocks, humidity, dust, extreme temperatures, chemical agents… This is why it is advisable to attach importance to the general quality of the products, as well as their solidity and their resistance to the external elements. To have reliable, durable equipment and reduce the frequency of maintenance operations, the technical characteristics of industrial building lighting must be appropriate to the nature of your activity. It is important to take into account the IP standard, which informs of the level of tightness of an LED bulb to water but also to dust. The first number indicates the degree of resistance to solid materials (sand, dust, etc.), while the second indicates the level of liquid tightness. The higher this number, the higher the protection. The products in the MonEclairageLED industrial building lighting range are IP65 certified. A feature that guarantees you to benefit from excellent sealing, for a high-power projector as well as for an economical LED bulb or an inexpensive LED light!

4 – The right light intensity

Generally with high ceilings and a large surface area, industrial buildings require the installation of powerful lighting solutions. To illuminate such volumes at a lower cost, nothing beats LED industrial lighting! Indeed, the most efficient LED industrial building lighting products combine a good lighting power factor with a high color rendering index and luminous flux for maximum efficiency, in compliance with European standards. As an indication, be aware that the lighting level of an industrial building must be between 100lm and 150lm. A light intensity of 20lm is tolerated in low traffic areas. On the other hand, the “critical” activity areas (dedicated in particular to the accomplishment of tasks requiring excellent visibility and concentration) can be equipped without problem with a lighting level of 300lm.

 5 – A suitable color temperature

Color temperature is expressed in Kelvin (K). It corresponds to the color of the light delivered by an LED bulb and generally varies between 2700K and 6500K. The higher the number, the more the light is “cold” and draws towards the blue. Conversely, the lower the number, the more the light is “warm” and tinged with yellow. Neutral white corresponds to a color temperature of 4000K, i.e. natural daylight. In the context of a warehouse or an industrial building, it is recommended to favor the coldest temperatures by opting for LED bulbs and luminaires from 4000K, or even 6000K for better visibility. However, the color temperature is not a criterion that increases the price of a cheap led bulb: this characteristic has little impact on the price of the products.

6 – A light designed zone by zone for inexpensive industrial led lighting

Bell, ceiling, projector or spot, urban lighting… Different lighting solutions can be used to provide the right light at different points in an industrial building. This diversity ensures that you find the product best suited to the constraints of the lit activity area. What type of industrial led lighting to choose?
– Suspended industrial LED lighting (high-power bell, ceiling light, etc.): this solution provides general lighting, even under high ceilings. Ceiling lights diffuse a homogeneous light, while bell-type lights allow the light to be oriented in a more precise beam.
– Lighting fixed to the wall (adjustable projector): they make it possible to effectively illuminate an area or a large space. Often adjustable, easy to install on a wall, partition or pole and to arrange exactly as you wish, LED floodlights offer a particularly flexible lighting solution. They are also compatible with a motion detector.
– Urban lighting luminaire, fixed on a lamppost-type support: this type of luminaire is perfectly suited for outdoor use, to light up a car park or the surroundings of an industrial building.

7 – Set up smart industrial lighting

Economical industrial building lighting is good, but smart industrial lighting is even better! Presence detector, brightness, dimmer, connected lighting… Advances in the field of lighting and LED technology now offer maximum flexibility for tailor-made light, infinitely adjustable. Intelligent industrial LED lighting makes it possible to imagine and implement professional solutions, adapted to the needs of each company. Thanks to connected lighting, it is easy to optimize the lighting management of an industrial building to move towards rational energy consumption and better visual comfort. Why not automate the switching on of an energy-saving LED bulb, a complete LED lighting device, or regulate lighting according to activity in specific areas, and in real time?
